Video Uploads

NomadicML makes it easy to upload driving videos for analysis. This page explains the various upload methods and options available.

Upload Methods

NomadicML supports multiple ways to add videos:

File Upload

Upload video files directly from your computer:

  1. Click the Upload button in the navigation or dashboard
  2. Select File Upload from the options
  3. Choose a video file from your device
  4. Wait for the upload to complete

Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and AVI with a maximum file size of 500MB.

YouTube URL

Import videos directly from YouTube:

  1. Click the Upload button
  2. Select YouTube URL from the options
  3. Paste the YouTube video URL
  4. Click Import

Make sure you have the rights to analyze the YouTube content you’re importing. Only use videos that you own or have permission to analyze.

Saved Videos

Reanalyze previously uploaded videos:

  1. Navigate to your video library
  2. Find the video you want to reanalyze
  3. Click the menu icon
  4. Select Reanalyze

This is useful when you want to apply updated analysis models to older videos.

Upload Process

The upload and analysis process occurs in several stages:

  1. File Transfer: The video is uploaded to our secure servers
  2. Pre-processing: The video is prepared for analysis
  3. AI Analysis: Our models analyze the video to detect events
  4. Event Detection: Key driving events are identified and categorized
  5. Summary Generation: An overall analysis is created

You can monitor this process in real-time on the upload screen, which displays a progress bar and status updates.

Batch Uploads

For users who need to analyze multiple videos at once:

  1. Click the Upload button
  2. Select Batch Upload
  3. Choose multiple video files
  4. Click Upload All

The system will process each video in sequence and notify you when all analyses are complete.

Upload Settings

Before uploading, you can adjust several settings:

Privacy Options

  • Private: Only you can access the video and its analysis
  • Shared: Specific team members can view the video
  • Organization: Available to everyone in your organization

Analysis Options

  • Standard Analysis: Basic event detection
  • Detailed Analysis: More comprehensive analysis with additional metrics
  • Safety Focus: Emphasis on safety-related events

Metadata

You can add metadata to help organize your videos:

  • Driver name or ID
  • Vehicle information
  • Route or location data
  • Test or session type
  • Custom tags

Managing Uploads

After videos are uploaded, you can manage them in several ways:

Canceling Uploads

To cancel an in-progress upload:

  1. Locate the video in the uploads list
  2. Click the X icon next to the progress bar

Deleting Videos

To remove a video from your library:

  1. Find the video in your library
  2. Click the menu icon
  3. Select Delete
  4. Confirm the deletion

Deleted videos cannot be recovered. All analysis data will be permanently removed.

Organizing Videos

Use folders to organize your video library:

  1. Click Create Folder in your video library
  2. Name the folder
  3. Drag and drop videos into the folder

Troubleshooting

Common upload issues and solutions:

Failed Uploads

If an upload fails:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify the file format is supported
  3. Ensure the file isn’t corrupted
  4. Try uploading a smaller file first

Processing Errors

If video processing fails:

  1. Check if the video plays correctly on your device
  2. Verify the video contains actual driving footage
  3. Try a different upload method
  4. Contact support if issues persist
